Overview
Designed a tri‑panel mini menu for Southern Style Cooking, a restaurant specializing in traditional Southern dishes. The goal was to refresh their menu presentation with a clear, appetizing layout that highlights key offerings and catering services while staying true to the brand’s warm, casual personality.
What I did
• Collaborated with the owner to organize menu sections (breakfast, lunch, dinner, salads, sandwiches, platters, desserts, and sides) into a structure that’s easy for guests to scan quickly.
• Designed the menu layout using a friendly Southern color palette and existing brand mascot, balancing typography, pricing, and spacing so items are legible without feeling crowded.
• Used Adobe Photoshop to enhance any food imagery and Adobe Illustrator to refine vector elements and logos, then built the full menu in Adobe InDesign with a consistent grid and alignment.
• Prepared press‑ready files with correct dimensions, bleeds, and margins for the folded mini‑menu format.
• Acted as print broker by coordinating with the print shop, supplying final files, reviewing proofs, and ensuring the finished menus matched the approved colors and layout.
Client
Southern Style Cooking – a restaurant offering classic Southern comfort food and catering services.
Tools
• Adobe InDesign – menu layout design and print‑ready file preparation
• Adobe Illustrator – logo and vector element refinement
• Adobe Photoshop – image enhancement and color adjustments
Outcome
The new mini menu gives Southern Style Cooking a clear, branded piece that’s easy for guests to use at the table or take away. The structured layout and consistent production setup make it simple to update prices or items for future print runs, while your end‑to‑end handling of design and print management ensured a smooth process from concept to delivery.
